Tree was aprox 8' tall, and the stand just gave out 4 hours after the tree had been up. The whole stand doesn't even sit flat anymore. The design is horrible! The screws at the top are not enough to keep the trunk snug, needs to have some sort of anchor at the bottom as well as the top. Although the stand has the bolts going through nuts instead of plastic you'd think it's better (is) but the shape of the base is poorly designed and needs to have more weight and wider base.

This is the second time I have bought this tree stand. No other will do. I have large christmas trees and it balances it very well.

I have rarely been more satisfied with a product. Paid the bit extra for one of these 5 years ago and haven't had to worry about standing a tree since. Cut the bottom of the tree flat (this is the key) and attach the base part-- an 8' tree stands even before attaching the screws. Brilliant.
Bought one for my parents.
