Mikasa HK400-045 Review by BobZoom (near Chicago)

After seeing this china in a local department store at what seemed a ridiculously low price I came to amazon.com to check reviews on it. The glowing reviews convinced me this was the set of white china I wanted. And I got a nice 20% discount by purchasing it at that department store and getting their credit card...icing on the cake.
I purchased some other fill-in pieces here at amazon. I love this china. It's clean design let's my food do the talking. It goes in the dishwasher with no fear of something breaking. It looks great on the table even without food. And, judging by the other reviews here, I'll have it forever.

One quick note: a couple of the reviewers here stated they had a difficult time removing the stickers from the bottom of each piece. It's a simple matter to remove them quickly and easily. Stack up the dishes and set them in the sink in hot water with a little bit of dishwashing liquid. Ten minutes later those stickers all but fall off. They'd probably come off in the dishwasher but then might clog the drain filter, so I think it's best to let them soak in the sink a bit and then wipe off the labels.
I highly recommend this set of china to anyone who's looking for a clean design and everyday durability.

I bought this set to replace a heavy and poorly made basket weave set that I bought at another store. It is like night and day the quality. There's a luminescence to these dishes that feels like a nice china - they aren't heavy, but don't chip or crack even when I accidentally bang it against the sink divider. I am extremely happy with this set and have bought several accompanying pieces.
